Sumptuously furnished rooms include doubles with slipper-bath bathrooms and a top-floor suite with its own lounge; the castle, Green and the whole town are within an easy walk. Tal Y Foel Farm Guesthouse sits on the Menai shore in south-west Anglesey — a small, friendly rural guesthouse with en-suite double, twin and family rooms, spectacular views across the water to Caernarfon Castle and Snowdonia, and its own riding centre and stud on site. It suits visitors touring the whole island rather than staying tight to Beaumaris (the town is about half an hour’s drive).

B&B stock in Beaumaris itself is limited and intimate — a handful of rooms rather than rows of them — which is exactly its charm and exactly why summer weekends and regatta fortnight vanish early. Current availability is best checked on the main booking platforms alongside the owners’ own sites. If the B&Bs are full, the inns’ rooms offer similar character with more capacity, and self-catering suits longer stays.
